These three short pieces are aimed at players of intermediate standard and are designed to introduce playing with a rhythm section. The rhythms are tricky to sight read but try to listen out for ‘clues’ from the drums whilst playing. Trying to subdivide beats whilst playing is useful. The pieces not only rely on being in strict time but also require an element of ‘feel’. They are equally suited to alto sax, flute and clarinet and each come with a backing and demo. Have fun with them!
All of the tracks feature Pete May on drums and Daf Lewis on Bass.
