Written for the student who has passed grade 5 but now awaits a grade 5 theory pass… this is a reflective piece in a 16 feel. “How Cool” is a recent composition for Solo Clarinet and Piano. Reminiscent of a pop ballad, it is a relaxed and gentle piece that never should sound heavy or strained.
A clarinet piece with piano accompaniment which requires the performer to think in a 16 feel and listen to the piano part. This is especially relevant when holding the long notes on the middle section of the piece, the piano part will give clues as to when the next downbeat will be.
Approximately Grade 5/6 standard
